It is almost guaranteed if you give me the choice between a meat dish and salad, the salad will always get priority. I love salads, especially fancy salads (typical garden and greek salad are not in my league). Of course there’re always exceptions for everything in life. And in the above case succulent juicy tender sweet bbq style ribs will definitely be preferred over salad. Tony Roma’s is probably one of the most famous restaurant place in Perth for ribs. But there’s also another little place that offers delicious pork ribs - Took Bae Kee II.
This is a little Korean restaurant located just off Barrack St. From the name I assume it has some sort of connection to the old Korean restaurant Took Begi which is just around the corner next to Miss Maude’s hotel. That used to be one of our fav back in uni days for cheap and delicious eat. TBK II, similarly offers cheap and yummy food.
Since mum can’t be bothered to cook last night so we decided to have TBK II.

The entrees were simple. Nothing fancy. But I just couldn’t under why some table gets 6x entrees and we only get 4x (?)
We ordered some of our usual favs: kimchee pancake, chilli rice cake, steamed kimchee mandu, mushrooms etc..

AND OF COURSE, we also ordered RIBS.

It’s sweet, spicy, juicy, sticky, succulent and every ways ribs should be. This is also one of the dish that kept us coming back for more.
Mum wanted something unusual tonight and she ordered the Ginseng Chicken:

This is basically wet/fresh ginseng and sticky rice stuffed in chicken and stewed in soup for hours. we used to make this dish at home but with dried ginseng and shorter cooking time. In the above version the chicken and sticky rices were so tender with melt-in-mouth texture.
When we started I noticed a friend of mine with her family were also dining there on the table behind us. It was funny because we were talking about how much we were craving for Korean food the other night. And here we were, both of us with our family in the same Korean restaurant!
